Androvic Plavac Mali Vrhunsko 2011

Peljesac Peninsula, Croatia

$27.99 / each

This tiny production Croatian bottling is made of the grape variety Plavac Mali which is a relative of Zinfandel. The dog pictured on the label makes reference to the wild "cagalj" dogs which roam the hillsides of the Peljesac Peninsula where this wine was grown. Beautifully structured, with very impressive density and length, this is incredibly unique stuff showing deep blackberry and black plum fruit and alluring notes of licorice and baking spice. This was fermented using wild yeasts, then aged in neutral barrel for 12 months, and was bottled unfined and unfiltered.
