Domaine du Chene Decastel’O Nielluccio $26.75
This organically grown, off-the-beaten-path bottling hails from the region of Cevennes in France's Languedoc and features the obscure grape Nielluccio which is most commonly found on the French island of Corsica. Known to be a cousin of Sangiovese, Nielluccio displays that dusty minerality that Sangiovese is known for, but takes on a slightly less tannic, juicier sensibility in this fabulous expression that boasts lots of fresh black currant and blackberry fruit. Vivid and zesty, with lovely floral undertones, this is such a unique discovery from France.
