La Raia, known most famously for its excellent Gavis, also produces a small amount of elegant, nuanced Barbera from its Demeter-certified biodynamic vineyards in the southeast section of Piemonte. Fermented with native yeasts and brought up in stainless steel, this is snappy, crisp and full of vitality, delivering loads of chalky minerals, rose petal aromas and zesty red raspberry and red plum flavors.
