The Spanish region of Almansa, located just inland from Valencia, is undergoing a Renaissance led by winemaker Raul Perez. His certified organic Ternario 1 bottling features the grape Garnacha Tintorera, also known as Alicante Bouschet in France and Portugal. Grown on 35 year old bush vines and aged in a combination of concrete and neutral French oak, this delivers earthy mineral notes of crushed graphite and slate, and bright sour cherry fruit set on a vivid, vibrant palate.
