Bodegas Hornillos Ballesteros Mibal Ribera del Duero $26.50
This dry-farmed, organically and biodynamically grown bottling is made of 100% Tempranillo and hails from Ribera del Duero in Spain. The winemakers Miguel Hornillos and Javier Ballesteros run a tiny garagiste operation and collect herbs in the vineyards, including yarrow, horsetail and chamomile (pictured on the label) which they then turn into biodynamic preparations that they spray on the vines. This was fermented with wild yeasts, brought up in stainless steel and delivers vibrant blueberry, black cherry, bergamot, and crushed slate notes.
