Castello Abate Rosso di Montalcino $29.99
Castello Abate Rosso di Montalcino

This savory, gravelly, certified organic Italian bottling hails from Montalcino in Tuscany and was made by female winemaker Carla Visconti, who is also a surrealist painter, as seen on her very intricate bottle labels. Comprised of 80% Sangiovese and 20% Colorino, this is grippy, energetic and beautifully structured with deep red cherry, cocoa nib, and crushed graphite notes set against a lovely mineral backbone.
