Cesanese is a fascinating Italian grape variety that's indigenous to the central Italian region of Lazio. This earthy, savory expression from Damiano Ciolli comes from the medieval village of Olevano Romano, located southeast of Rome, and was farmed organically on volcanic soils, fermented with native yeasts, and raised in cement tank. At once masculine and feminine, this shows delicate floral notes of violets on the nose alongside meaty, mineral undertones and zesty red cherry and red plum fruit.
