This super aromatic, organically farmed skin-contact orange wine is made of 70% Catarratto and 30% Grillo, two indigenous grapes that are native to the Italian island of Sicily. Macerated on the skins for 3 days, this shows a gorgeous palate teeming with notes of bergamot, tea leaves, clementine zest and jasmine flowers. Fresh and saline, this was made by Michael Schmelzer, an American who moved to Italy to make wine in Chianti at Monte Bernardi, and to work with other local varieties like this special project from Sicily.
