Pleiades, founded by the late Sean Thackrey, is one of California's most idiosyncratic producers, pushing convention aside in favor of exotic, intriguing wines that definitely have a cerebral appeal. This Viognier, made by winemaker Dustin Durfee is a sort of homage to Sean, who loved the aromatic and textural appeal of this variety. Farmed sustainably with minimal intervention, this is luscious and tropical with fragrant notes of apricot, ginger, pear, almond and jasmine blossoms.
